Monitoring of the development of blue-green algae in the Kuibyshev reservoir using remote sensing indices

The research presents the results of remote monitoring blue-green algae Kuibyshev reservoir, leading to eutrophication reservoir. Multispectral images were taken by European Space Agency’s Sentinel-2 sensing satellite and processed using QGIS software. Satellite spectral indices. After several indices, three most informative ones selected: NDVI, NDWI SIPI. usage made it possible define boundaries distribution more clearly, as well zones intensive development biomass. use indices determine suitable data for under adverse meteorological conditions. analysis makes assess intensity algae. This is basis a forecast model biomass changes in reservoirs middle zone Russian Federation.
